July 1, 2008

West Indies 100 for 3 (King 40) beat Netherlands 100 for 6 (Mohammed 4-20) by seven wickets
Scorecard

West Indies women's tour of Europe continued to go from strength to strength with a seven-wicket win against Netherlands in the first Twenty20 in Utrecht, Anisa Mohammed's four wickets applying the squeeze to the home side who were playing their first Twenty20.

West Indies have been unstoppable since the end of their enforced three-year hiatus from international cricket - running up four wins out of four so far including three victories against Ireland. Their Twenty20 record now stands at played two, won two, having easily conquered Ireland on Friday.

Nadine George stuck in Ireland who could only crawl - comparatively - to 99 for 6 as Mohammed bagged 4 for 20 from her four overs. The target was quickly chased down for the loss of only three wickets and a sizeable 3.2 overs remaining. George (31) shared a decent opening stand with Stacy-Ann King who proved queen with a topscore of 40. From thereon in it was a formality, Juliann Nero's 16 helping them even closer.

The sides meet on Wednesday for the first of two ODIs before resuming Twenty20 cricket on Sunday. There will then be a further two one-dayers. West Indies have all the momentum going their way.
